Paint + Glue + Virtue

I stopped in at my local thrift shop & found some
hanging stone tile decorations.

They had artichoke stickers on them.
I like artichokes, but I like them better on my plate
than the wall.

Of course I forgot to take a pict. before M & I
taped and painted the centers white (leaving about
a 1-1/2" border).

Next we stirred up a little Marigold Milk Paint.
Which we used to paint over the white centers.

Then we pulled out some scrapbook paper & found patterns
we liked. M & I cut out flowers, a heart, and a cross.

We thought about using mod podge to glue the paper cutouts to the tiles but the mod podge was still missing.  We opted for a glue stick and it did the trick.

M helped me up until it was time to paint the letters, but
getting them straight was quickly becoming irksome,
so she passed me her brush. And I slowly began to paint
thinking of how these 3 words faith, hope & love sum
it all up.

Faith & Love are complete.  Hope is taking me the
most time - I have re-done that tile 3xs.
It's not coincidental.  I keep staring at the palette & paper
wondering how to paint hope.
