The Metal Mail Holder.

Perhaps there is an old word for this - I think I remember something similar hanging in my Grandma's back hall. I found my metal mail holder at Goodwill.  Yeah!  If I buy an item for under $2 I don't worry about how it will turn out.  If I'm not worried about spoiling & wasting I enjoy crafting so much more.  Unfortunately I forgot to take a before picture. This use to be cream colored with some fairly undesirable fruit appliques.

First - I sanded it. Second - I painted it white. Third - I mixed up some milk paint (fun stuff). Fourth I painted with the mustard shaded milk paint. Fifth - I glued on a flower cutout from some very fun craft paper.

The gluing plan was to use mod podge, after crawling on my hands & knees looking under beds I decided to use glue.  Plain old normal glue.  Although I will say my savy daughter googled and found a homemade mod podge recipe for me. But at this point I just wanted to glue and admire.  So here it is.
